First National Cares prepares for another year of community giving

In 2024, we formalized our efforts by launching First National Cares, our official community giving program. By working together as volunteers, advocates and donors, First National Cares harnesses the collective spirit and goodwill of our teams from coast to coast.

The impact was tangible and meaningful for all of us as it brought us closer to organizations doing great work for those in need such as Second Harvest, Canada’s largest food rescue organization.

More than 300 First National volunteers sorted tonnes of potatoes and cereal, and packed and decorated thousands of snack bags to help those experiencing food insecurity.

Thanks to the leadership of Spaces, our dedicated employee resource group, 2024 also saw us prepare cooked meals and food packages at The 519, the City of Toronto agency dedicated to building a better world for 2SLGBTQ+ people. 

And for the 16^th year running, we supported the United Way in its mission to improve lives locally and build a brighter future for everyone.

These activities demonstrate that caring has always been in our nature – and always will be!

Which brings us to say that First National Cares will be back in 2025 to unleash our team spirit to help those in need.
